In case you missed the big announcement last week, I’m knocked up again. WITH TWINS.
And now that some* of the shock has worn off, I am down to logistics: getting the nursery ready, brainstorming names, figuring out what we really need two of, and all that fun stuff.
I’m also finally out of the first trimester, which is awesome because, you know how hard the first trimester usually is? Double that with twins — because there’s literally double the hormones, double the baby-building, double the everything!
And while some twin moms breeze through it (every mom and pregnancy is different, after all), I was not one of those moms. Not. Even. A. Bit.
Starting around week 6, I was hit with nausea and exhaustion that lasted darn near all day, every day. I started getting a few hours of relief here and there around week 11, but then week 12 was miserable (I also got a stomach bug from my daughter, which did not help, as you might imagine). Around week 13, I started to get some relief, too, although I still slept 10 to 12 hours a night, plus a nap if I could.
And, despite being so, SO hungry, I usually only wanted to eat cereal or 7-layer burritos. Guys, I was so nauseous that I started associating that sick feeling with some TV shows, songs, and movies. Is that normal?
Anywho, it was for me. And, I’m anxiously awaiting the day when I can start watching “The Great British Baking Show” again.
Because the first trimester is — let’s call it — memorable and unique, I wanted to capture it in a few GIFs. Because what’s more fun than GIFs?

What was your first trimester like? Different from your first kiddo? How about for you other moms of multiples? I’m very, very happy to be in the second tri now! –Jenn
*Fine, I’m still in shock and awe. Does that ever really go away?
